"Your wish is my command." No, that's not coming from a blue Genie. It's Stanley, the interactive player piano. Stanley is making his first live appearance at the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle this weekend, and taking requests via Twitter for a performance that will stream live. What's Stanley's deal? Send a song request to @StanleyPiano on Twitter. Stanley's moderation assistant Stanford will filter the requests, and send a response when the song is ready to play. Then a midi music file will drive Stanley's hardware controller, which communicates with the piano's valve to make his keys wiggle. Social integration? Analog, real-world elements? Check. Retro-cool?
